Funny smell in the house?

Do pollutants escape from your home? Would you like certainty for yourself and your loved ones, but don't know where and how to start?

Do you want scientific certainty with a minimal effort of a few seconds?

Pollupatches are small gel patches that detect air pollutants. They help you to easily and reliably test your furniture, walls and surfaces for vapors and quickly get rid of sources of pollutants.

Teppich? Kleidersschrank? Kommode? Welche Schadstoffquellen belasten die Raumluft?

Air is our most important food

We breathe 20,000 liters of air every day. Fresh air keeps us healthy, fit and productive.
Residential chemicals, especially formaldehyde, are widespread and pollute the air we breathe every day.

We spend >90% of our time indoors, where the air is often 5-10 times more polluted than the outside air.

Formaldehyde is a gas classified as "possibly carcinogenic". It is used in numerous products as:

– preservativel
– Adhesive component in wood-based materials,
– process chemical for
textiles,

used.

Pollupatches help you quickly and easily identify and eliminate formaldehyde vapors.

With pollu patches, you can quickly identify pollutant vapors such as formaldehyde.

Pollupatches are designed to be placed with ease on any object, surface and even children's toys so you can monitor the chemicals being released. They change color in just 24-48 hours, warning you of unnecessary sources of pollution in your home. Using a simple traffic light color code that needs no introduction, the patches are easy to use.

How it works.

Die Patches sind schnell verteilt und der Test kann beginnen.

1. Distribute patches

Distribute the pollu patches in the room at the places where you suspect sources of pollution.

Nach 24-48h können die Ergebnisse einfach abgelesen werden.

2. Waiting

Within 24 to 48 hours, the green patches turn yellow or reddish if contaminants are present. If there are few-none, they remain green.

Eine Auswertekarte ermöglicht es sofort passende Maßnahmen zu ergreifen.

3. Evaluate

You can evaluate the test yourself using the simple color traffic light. The enclosed catalog of measures will then help you to act in a targeted manner.

I've had problems in my room for a long time. It started with the fact that I often had the feeling that something was wrong in the room. It's difficult for me to air the room regularly because I live next to a street and it's otherwise very noisy, especially at night. After I had unsuccessfully bought sensors for several hundred euros, I was not a step further. With the patches I was finally able to identify an old piece of furniture as the cause and replace it directly. Now my values are much better than before and most importantly the whole process was quick and easy. If I had known about this earlier, I would have saved myself a lot of money.

There have been three of us since January and at the beginning there was an unbelievable amount of things to consider when furnishing the children's room. I found out about harmful substances in furniture from a television report and we also had a strange smell. Getting an expert just wouldn't have been possible. We heard about the patches from a friend and tried it out. With the catalog of measures, we finally got the problem under control and are now sleeping much better. 🙂

The patches are fun and it's actually super easy. After my test in my kitchen-living room, I immediately ordered a few extra kits for my parents.

To ask?

Pollupatches consist of a special bioplastic, which has large pores into which pollutants such as formaldehyde can penetrate. Inside the gel is a bio-indicator that is sensitive to formaldehyde. This reaction leads to the degradation of the green color and a color change towards yellow, orange and red. This color change is easily visible to the naked eye.

No. The patches consist only of substances that are harmless to health. During development, care was taken to ensure that no hazardous substances, poisons or aggressive chemicals were used.

However, the patch is not suitable for consumption and we advise keeping the patches out of the reach of animals and children. Also make sure to discard any patches after use.

The patches are made of biodegradable materials and can be easily disposed of with normal residual or organic waste. You can also crumble the patches after use and use them as biological fertilizer.

Each test kit includes a positive and a negative control. This way you can be sure that the test kit works and that your results are meaningful. Each batch is extensively tested before it is released. Pollu patches are a guide that should help you to get an overview of possible sources of pollution quickly and easily.
The patch is a good guide, if you are looking for verifiable evidence, we would be happy to advise you on the selection of special sensors and experts.

If you want to find out more about the sensitivity and reproducibility of the test methodology, you can request the data sheet here.

Since June 2014, the EU has classified formaldehyde as “probably carcinogenic”. Due to the frequent occurrence in our everyday objects and materials, pollutants such as formaldehyde build up in our indoor spaces.

The search for the causes usually takes a long time and is expensive.

Detect chemical vapors - How a formaldehyde test brings certainty.

We spend over 90 % of our time inside. Air pollutants are up to 10 times more concentrated indoors than outdoors. Formaldehyde was classified by the EU as a suspected carcinogen in 2013, but we still find it in a lot of furniture, wooden building materials, paintwork, carpets and even clothing. It turns out to be a challenge to see the problem at all, after all, air pollutants are invisible. Even electronic sensors are usually not very site-specific and only give a vague statement about the origin of the formaldehyde. The fine electrochemical sensors are often even misled by impurities such as alcohol.

Our home should be a place of rest and security, free from unnecessary pollution and chemicals. In order to identify pollutants more quickly, we have developed pollu patches for testing formaldehyde. These small patches indicate when formaldehyde is present at unhealthy levels by simply changing color based on the simple traffic light system. In addition, pollupatches are the first biodegradable formaldehyde test that can be used to fertilize plants after use.
